bauroc LINTEL is used as a load-bearing element for spanning window and door openings in bauroc block walls (except for LINTEL with a width of 100 mm). The bauroc LINTEL is calculated as a single-span beam and is designed to support a specified load.
The bauroc LINTEL is not recommended to be loaded with concentrated loads. The reinforcement of the LINTEL allows for the support of floor panels of multi-storey buildings directly on the lintel without additional rows of blocks.

The LINTELS must rest on supporting surfaces by mm corresponding to the specific size of the lintel relative to the opening, as indicated in the table below. bauroc recommends a support surface of 250-300 mm. In the case of longer lintels, there may be a need to increase the support surface. The support surfaces must be flat and made of whole blocks. The support surfaces and the blocks of the previous row must be glued with a full joint (without air gaps). The LINTEL itself is also fully covered with a layer of adhesive. Where possible, it is recommended to use LINTELS with a height of 400 mm. The load-bearing capacity of such LINTELS is always greater, and the deflection is significantly less.
It is prohibited to saw the LINTELS to reduce their size, drill into the lintels, mill channels, or make any other alterations that affect the properties of the LINTELS.

bauroc LINTELS are manufactured according to the width of the bauroc blocks (500mm, 375 mm, 300 mm, 250 mm, 200 mm, 150 mm, 100mm). Their height is 200 mm (one block height), 400 mm (two block height), or 600 mm (three block height), if their length is greater than 5 m. All LINTELS (except for lintels with a width of 100 mm) are used as load-bearing elements.
